And It’s Only 1030….πŸ˜’

This weekend has been one of those “is it the full moon or just healthcare?” kind of weekends.

One of the residents had an unwitnessed fall – totally fine all day and night – then wakes up confused, incoherent and seeing bugs on the dining room table. Of course. He’s a frequent fall, stubborn, independent but needs supervision…you know the type. πŸ™„ I kept replaying it in my head wondering if I brushed it off too much. Ended up sending him out – came back with possible pneumonia.

Then another resident starts Friday with hoarse voice…Saturday turns into wheezing and cough. Did a neb treatment and gave cough meds before I left at 2330. Came back at 0700 to a fever and difficulty breathing. Like…come on. Why didn’t anyone reassess? Another neb? Vitals? Anything?

Ended up sending him out too.

Just one of those stretches where everything feels heavy and you start second guessing every decision you make. I’ve been on the phone with the on-call provider so much we’re basically on a first name basis now (kidding…kind of)

Honestly, I still enjoy what I do. But wow – some days really test you.

Just needed to vent. Happy Sunday everyone.

Oh, by the way, its only 1030.
