You know youāre not supposed to say itā¦
but somehow, this turned into a Q-word kind of double.
But honestly?
Four days off after this, so I canāt even complain too much.
This morning started off good.
No complaints.
No emergencies.
No wound changes (a miracle, truly).
Just a little anxiety from one residentā
but thatās expected with her.
Other than that?
Solid crew today.
Good energy all around.
And the rest of the day?
Honestly⦠uneventful.
Just the usual restless behaviors, nothing out of the ordinary.
The kind of shift where you almost donāt trust how smooth itās going.
And then I went on my break.
Because tell me whyā¦
the moment I stepped away, things got pretty hectic for the team.
Residents trying to get up from their wheelchairs,
alarms going off,
people yelling for helpā
and on top of that, itās dinner timeā¦
so the aides are trying to get everyone ready at the same time.
It was chaos for them.
And Iām just sitting there likeā¦
why does this always happen the second I leave?? š
Itās now 9PMā¦
and somehowā
everyone is in bed.
Like???
That alone deserves a moment of silence because when does that ever happen š
We did have a call-out, so management was scrambling for a bitā
but someone came in and stayed until 8PM, which helped so much.
Grateful doesnāt even cover it.
(Also yes⦠I bought the crew Chipotle šÆ because we deserved that win.)
Closing out the night feelingā¦
dare I say itā¦
chillin.
But letās not get ahead of ourselvesā
Because I have another double tomorrow š
And I just knowā¦
writing this might be me tempting fate.
So if tomorrow goes leftā
we all know why š«
Fingers crossed I didnāt jinx itā¦
pleaseeeee.
Scrubs and Side Eyes
ā cautiously optimistic, always šš
