I’m back!

After four glorious days off—and honestly, they were amazing. ☀️🏊‍♀️

There was plenty of sunshine, plenty of pool time, and of course… plenty of chores because apparently having four days off doesn’t mean I get to do absolutely nothing. 😂

But overall? I actually felt well rested, which is saying something.

I also have a friend visiting from Florida, so I’ve been trying to squeeze in some time with her throughout the week. A little sunshine, a little pool time, a little catching up with friends… not a bad way to spend some days off.

And now?

Back to work.

I started this work week with an 8-hour shift on the Paradise Unit—and honestly, it felt good to be back there.

We have a new resident, and so far he’s been doing pretty well. No major or uncontrollable behaviors, although he is definitely a little restless.

But honestly…

I feel like anyone would be in a LOCKED unit. 😂

Restless?
Check.
Wandering?
Check.
Trying to figure out where they’re going?
Also check.

It’s just part of the territory.

But compared to some of the shifts I’ve had lately?

I’ll take it.

And then the shift just… flew by.

Before I knew it, I was counting down the minutes until it was time to leave. Break? Went well. Lunch? Went well. Everything was just… going.

No craziness.
No running around.
No constant alarms.
No feeling like I needed to be in five places at once.

Just a calm shift.

And honestly, I love having a good squad.

When you work with people who know what they’re doing, communicate, help each other out, and stay on top of things, it changes the entire atmosphere.

There wasn’t any craziness happening.

It was calm.

It was PEACEFUL.

And that is exactly what I mean when I call this place the Paradise Unit.

Maybe it really is paradise after all. 😌

Four days off → sunshine → pool → friends → back to work.

Not exactly the worst way to start the week.

And after today?

I’m definitely not complaining.
